Search Engine Submissions.

The big search engines like Google and Bing can take a few months to find your site. There are two main ways they will find you. Firstly, you can submit your domain on their sites: however, this can take months for them to list your site. Another way is through links to your site on other sites. For example, once your site is ready to go live, I would appreciate it if I could link your site as part of my examples page. As my site is already established, the spiders files from the search engines regularly visit my site, checking for updates etc., and therefore they would find the link to your site and follow this new link, thereby helping to get your site listed quicker, benefiting us both.

Google also has a disliking for new domain names. Don't take it personally, but it can take a while (about 6months) for your true ranking and positioning in Google to settle. So use this time to get as many links to your site as you can.

FAQ.

How much will it cost?

Prices start at for a one-page Flash site from £30 plus hosting and domain name (both of which can be free depending on requirements).

How long will it take?

I will require you to confirm that the work I have done is what you wanted at several stages via email.  Therefore, the quicker you check and confirm that my work meets your requirements, the faster I can complete your project. I would aim to turn around a one-page site in a week (hopefully quicker). The larger the site, the longer it will take. However, due to it's online template nature, the Flash sites will take slightly less time, which is reflected in their cheaper price.

What do I need to do?

Think about what you want your site to do. Sell products, give info, show examples of work etc.
I will need some content / text for your site, so please provide have any leaflets or brochures about your company so that I can use the text. I will edit the writing, if I think it needs it, for a web audience.
You know your market better than me, so any help you can offer will only help your site.
Do you have photos, images or logos for adding to the site? If you have your own logo and graphics, that's fine; if not, I can help provide these for an additional fee.

Why is Pippas Web so cheap?

Basically, I've tried to keep my prices low because of the customers I'm trying to attract customers just starting out in their businesses - also, as I work from home around my children, I have no additional overheads, which means I can charge a realistic basic amount, providing basic websites at basic prices.

Why are you called Pippas web not Pippa's Web?

I know that Pippas web should have an apostrophe, but as there isn't one in the web address, I decided to leave it off my company name too.

How do I pay for my website?

Once we have made a plan for your website I will send an invoice for the deposit by email. Request for payments can be made through PayPal and can be paid by card, bank transfer or existing PayPal account. (Payments by alternative means are possible, but please let me know.) Once the payment has been cleared, I will begin work on the layout for the site.
I will send another email invoice on completion of the site for the remainder of the fee.
